With 19 years experience in economic development and accounting, Tara Martin plans to inject her knowledge and passion to help East Montgomery County develop into a thriving community.
Martin assumed the role of Office Administrator in June 2015, however, Tara began working at EMCID in February to become acquainted with the area, learn about various office procedures, and assess current development programs.
As Portfolio and Accounting Manager at the Tulsa Economic Development Corporation, which provides loans for small businesses, Martin helped grow the non-profit organization's portfolio from $200,000 to $50 million over a 15 year period. She was also responsible for grant compliance reporting for the Community Development Financial Institutions Fund, the U.S. Economic Development Administration, Community Development Block Grant and Small Business Incubator program, and she oversaw the lending program through the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Martin is looking forward to getting to know the community better; she can't wait to experience all that the greater Houston area has to offer.
